About LAYC
Since the late 1960s, LAYC has grown into a nationally recognized agency serving over 4,000 youth and families annually in DC and Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties in Maryland. Our mission is to empower youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood through innovative programs addressing social, academic, and career needs.
LAYC Prince George’s Services
LAYC Prince George’s site provides a comprehensive set of bilingual programs to address youth’s intersecting needs, including:1) education: tutoring, homework assistance, afterschool enrichment/ physical activities; 2) community wellness: HIV Testing, 3) workforce readiness: employment/life skills training, GED preparation; 4) residential placement: housing, homeless youth support services.
Project Overview
Project: Interior renovation of a 21,300 sq. ft. facility in Prince George’s County
Duration: Approximately 18 months
Partners: LAYC & Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS)
Goal: Create a shared space that meets community needs and supports early childcare services
