Run for TEAM LAYC in the 46th annual Marine Corps Marathon or MCM 10K charity race!

Virtual races can be run between October 1 and November 11, 2021

LAYC is an official charitable organization recognized by the 2021 Marine Corps Marathon and the MCM10K race event. This means they are alerting all registered runners about running for our cause. The 2021 Marine Corps Marathon and the MCM10K are being run both live and virtually this year, and slots for running LIVE in official MCM races are still open. All runners fundraising with TEAM LAYC can complete virtual 10K and Marathon races outside of the official MCM race.

There are TWO ways you can join Team LAYC for 2021:

Individuals who want to run officially with MCM and also fundraise with TEAM LAYC

If you want to officially run the Marathon or 10K with the Marine Corps Marathon organization on the official route and receive official timing, a finisher medal, and participant shirt, you must first register directly with MCM using one of the first two buttons below, then you need to sign up to fundraise with LAYC by clicking on the Register with LAYC button.

Individuals who just want to be a part of TEAM LAYC and help fundraise for our youth programs, but do not want to run officially with the Marine Corps Marathon organization. These runners will only be able to run virtually, and will raise at least $50 to qualify for a TEAM LAYC shirt.

Register with TEAM LAYC using the link below. By registering with Team LAYC, you will have a personal fundraising site created to help us fundraise for our youth programs. All Team LAYC members must raise a minimum of $50 to receive a TEAM LAYC tee-shirt and other LAYC swag. This $50 minimum must be raised by September 15th, to qualify for LAYC swag.

TEAM LAYC Marathon and 10K Perks and Awards

All Team LAYC runners receive:

Access to MCM or MCM10K team captains via email, social media, and pre-race training activities
Invitation to join the TEAM LAYC Facebook Team Page
If running virtually, an invitation to a live 10K meetup opportunity hosted by LAYC, with a finish line celebration.
Invitation to a November WRAP UP celebration for all team members.
Upon raising at least $50 for LAYC on their personal fundraising page, an official TEAM LAYC 2021 racing shirt.

FAQs

How much do I have to raise?

Once you register with TEAM LAYC at teamlayc2021.givesmart.com, we are asking you to raise a minimum of $50 to qualify for our collectible official TEAM LAYC racing shirt. Deadline to qualify for the shirt by reaching the fundraising minimum is September 15, 2021. We encourage you to raise as much as possible beyond this minimum to support LAYC programs.
How can I register for the official Marathon or 10K?

First, register with the official MCM Marathon and 10k Race. This will make you an official runner and qualify you to run live on the race route and receive a finisher medal, MCM licenced shirts, and other swag. Second, register with Team LAYC to be part of our fundraising team. You will receive your own page to fundraise and we ask that you raise a minimum of $50 by September 15, 2021 to qualify for TEAM LAYC swag. I have already purchased my 10K or Marathon bib through the actual Marine Corps Marathon website. Can I still run with Team LAYC?

Yes! You must go to the TEAM LAYC registration site to be an official part of our team. Thank you for joining our team!
If I sign up with TEAM LAYC, am I guaranteed an official entry into the OFFICIAL MCM Marathon or 10k (Live or virtual)?

No! LAYC is not reserving or guaranteeing slots or bibs for the official race. You must officially register with the race to be considered official 2021 MCM Runners with the MCM organization.
Can I run if I'm under 18?

Yes, as long as: 1) you are age 14 or above as of October 31, 2021, and 2) you have the signed approval of a parent/guardian. All runners must sign a waiver on the MCM website.

Running the MCM or MCM10K is entirely at your own risk. By registering to run with TEAM LAYC, Latin American Youth Center is in no way liable for any illness or injury resulting from training and/or participating in the race. No Federal or Marine Corps endorsement of advertisers or sponsors is implied.

All Team LAYC runners will be required to be registered with TEAM LAYC and fundraise at least $50 to receive a TEAM LAYC shirt and swag.
