The Post-Secondary Success Program seeks volunteers to tutor currently enrolled college students in the following subjects: Basic College-level Math/Algebra for the Summer 2018 term. Tutoring sessions will be arranged on an as-needed basis, 1-on-1,  or in group. Tutoring may take place at the Latin American Youth Center during regular business hours or in a location agreed upon by the tutor and student. Knowledge or experience working with first-generation college-bound students is a plus. Bilingual English-Spanish speakers are preferred but not required.

Weekday mornings before 12 p.m., weekends flexible time

Location

LAYC Anchor site (Kaplan Center), 1419 Columbia Road NW or at a location agreed upon by tutor and student.

Volunteer Commitment

Minimum 1-hour weekly commitment with special accommodations

Volunteers should submit their current resume and a brief paragraph expressing their interest to Jennifer Betancur at jennifer@layc-dc.org. Eligible volunteers will be invited for a brief interview with program coordinator.

Required Clearances

Volunteers selected may be asked to complete a local police clearance, a Tuberculosis Test clearance, and a search on the National Sex Offender Registry.
