Mental Health Services (CSA)

The Latin American Youth Center is a Certified Core Service Agency (CSA) through the Department of Mental health.The program provides out patient and assessment and mental health treatment. Services integrate the strengths of family relationships, respond to individual cultural differences, and incorporate the special needs of each family into treatment plans. The CSA provides prevention and education services, and uses many treatment interventions including counseling, medication, and other rehabilitation services.

Our services are provided at homes, schools, neighborhood sites, or our many locations throughout the District. Our school-based services are provided to all grade levels in the public and charter schools. Children and adolescents involved in court and foster care systems also benefit from the various services provided to them and their families. 

Who is Eligible? 

  • Youth between the ages of 12 to 21
  • Residents of the District of Columbia
  • Youth who are experiencing emotional distress (some of the symptoms may be: sadness, anger, having problems at school, anxiety, issues with family members, substance abuse, etc.)

  • Psychiatric Evaluation, Medication Management
  • Individual, Group and Family Counseling
  • Community Support
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Referrals
