After-Care Program
Program Description
The After Care program began its existence in 1998. The purpose of this program is to supply quality tutoring for children attending surrounding schools within the Columbia Heights area. This program is free of charge for all participants.
Today the After Care Program averages 30-40 participants per day. With extra-curricular activities that enhance their learning and understanding academically the program has become very popular within the community. Part of good communication is personal contact. That’s why we encourage parents to stop by LAYC anytime. Your child will appreciate your attention and enthusiasm, and you’ll enjoy seeing what goes on during our busy days. Visiting the Program helps parents get to know tutors and other children, and lets you keep in touch with your child’s expanding world.
