Demographics

LAYC tracks the number of individuals served (unduplicated count) and the number of program participants served (duplicated count). A single individual can be counted in one or multiple programs as a program participant. Therefore, the number of program participants served (duplicated count) will always be higher than the number of individuals served (unduplicated count). LAYC uses the individuals served (unduplicated count) to create reports, and the program participants (duplicated count) to analyze the depth of our services. For example, during Fiscal Year 2010 (October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010), LAYC served 4,245 individuals, and had a total of 7,285 program participants.
