Walls Painted; Appliances Installed; Keys Ready!

On May 22nd, 2009, LAYC proudly opened the doors to its newest home - Hope House - a residential apartment home for teen parents and their children.

Named in honor of Executive Director Lori Kaplan’s mother Hope Kaplan, Hope House provides apartment units to three teen parents and their children under the age of five. Each parent has the opportunity to live in a unit for up to 12 months. During that time, residents learn independent living and parenting skills.  The teen parents also receive career and employment services, GED or post secondary education assistance, recreational activities, and mental health counseling as needed.

Hope House offers a supportive community to enable teen parents to make positive steps toward their educational, parenting, and career goals.
