The Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) Foster Care Program, a licensed foster care provider in the District of Columbia, provides foster care services to children up to 21 years of age who have been temporarily removed from their homes due to child abuse or neglect and have been placed under the care of the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency - CFSA. In order to provide children in foster care with loving homes and healthy life experiences, the LAYC Foster Care Program continually recruits and trains both English and Spanish-speaking individuals to become licensed foster parents or kinship care providers. Once licensed, foster parents and kinship care families have the privilege of welcoming a child into their home for a temporary period of time and the responsibility to protect, love, and provide for them as they would for their own children. Everyone interested in opening their heart and home to an infant, child, and/or youth in need is encouraged to inquire about our program and the licensing process. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, marital status, age, sexual orientation, gender, educational background, etc. In order to qualify for the Foster Care program, prospective foster/kinship parents must:
