LAYC celebrated World AIDS Day, December 1, with a day full of activities at LAYC and at the Warehouse, an arts and performance center in downtown DC.  The LAYC Teen Center hosted HIV, STI and pregnancy testing. The community center screened the documentary "The Other City" about HIV/AIDS in Washington, and  followed by AIDS quilt making. The festivities culminated at the Warehouse with a performance of "The Battle," a dramatic comedy about love and relationships. The event concluded with a commemoration of those lost to HIV/AIDS. Nearly 100 youth and adults attended the event.

On November 29, LAYC also raised awareness at Busboys and Poets near U Street, with an open mic and drag show performance.

Sponsors for these activities include: Metro TeenAIDS, Latin American Youth Center, SMYAL, Food & Friends, The Women's Collective, DC Concerned Providers, and Children's Hospital.

Pictures to come!
