Digital Connectors' participants attended the annual One Economy Gala 2011 at the Newseum, which served to highlight the role of technology in improving education. The event honored visionary leaders and outstanding student achievement in technology and education.  Technology companies and education organizations provided guests and Digital Connectors with the first public view of the latest technology designed to improve educational outcomes at the interactive Edu-Tech Expo.

LAYC's Digital Connectors attended the conference by invitation (LAYC was the only sponsored group invited to attend) and served as volunteers at the event. They met One Economy Chief Executive Officer P. Kelley Dunne (pictured above), Director of Public Affairs at the Comcast Corporation Bill Black, and Leland Melin, NASA Administrator and former astronaut among others.
