LAYC’s Food & Nutrition Program serves youth across the organization with hands-on cooking and nutrition classes. The program is in need of volunteers to serve as assistants in its day-time and after school classes. Basic home cooking knowledge is a plus, as is Spanish-language ability, but neither is required. The program seeks volunteers who are eager to engage with youth about food! This is an opportunity to work closely with youth as they learn to grow, buy, and cook healthy and affordable food.

Dates and Times

Opportunities are available most weekdays (no weekends), at different times each day. Most classes begin before 5 p.m. Classes are always being added, so interested volunteers should reach out to see what is currently available.
