One time event or monthly opportunity

Maryland Multicultural Youth Center (MMYC) Riverdale will host its monthly Food Bank Distribution Day in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, William Wirt Middle School and Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative. The event is an outdoor food bank where food packages are distributed to community members by MMYC staff and volunteers. The event expects to reach over 200 families in the Riverdale, MD community. The team seeks approximately 10 volunteers to assist with special events support, including set-up and break-down, registration table, packing assembly lines, loading and clean-up efforts. Volunteers would be also be assisting the MMYC staff with the distribution of the food packages. The ideal volunteer will be available for the full event (approximately 4 hours in the morning) and able to lift, load, and carry heavy objects for set-up and break-down. This is a one-time event on the third Thursday of each month, however, interested volunteers may commit to helping with the Food Bank Distribution Day monthly.

This is a recurring monthly event held on the morning of every third Thursday of each month, rain or shine. Please check our website calendar for the next date.
