Dorila Martinez is a native Salvadorian and 2017 graduate of High Point High School in Prince George’s County. Dorila didn’t have the typical high school experience; after doing her homework, she often worked nights cleaning offices with her mother. But that didn’t stop her from earning a 3.5 GPA and over 100 hours of community service, all the while participating in MMYC’s Adelante program, where she tutored peers and worked on an anti-violence awareness campaign for her community. Dorila’s ultimate goal is to become a lawyer, representing juvenile crime victims. Dorila will start at Prince George’s Community College in the fall, pursuing a Paralegal/Legal Assistant Associate’s Degree, and hopes to eventually go on to earn her bachelors at the University of Maryland at College Park before heading to law school.
We wish Dorila all the best and know she will be very successful in her future plans!
